For 18 years, the International Particle Physics Support Group (IPPOG) has been organizing the International Masterclass, one of the world's largest student events, to bring fundamental science to the public and take science communication to the highest level.

IVMER, which has ensured Turkey's participation in this prestigious program since 2012, held this year's International Masterclass 2026 event on Thursday, February 18, 2026, at the METU Culture and Congress Center.

A total of 66 young science enthusiasts from 13 different high schools took their first steps into the exciting world of particle physics by working with real CERN data. Under the guidance of expert physicists, the students had the opportunity to personally examine the most important questions of today's physics, from the Higgs boson to dark matter. The event will be remembered as one of the rare experiences that transforms young people from mere listeners into active researchers. The second stage of this significant event, where Turkey proudly represents its young talents in science once again on an international platform, will be held at the Konya Science Center on March 28, 2026.
